When the CTA Fails You, Don’t Forget Your Knitting

Well I had some fun this morning. I was running my usual amount of late this morning. But fate had it out for me along with so many other redline passengers. The train right in front of mine had decided to stop working. During the busiest part of rush hour on one of the busiest train lines in the city.

After half an hour of waiting on our train we were told we would need to get on a northbound train to Howard and get back on a South bound train. So I along with every person on a South bound train north of argyle headed north. We got to Howard and we all trekked up and around the station packed ourselves into a purple line and a red line heading south. I am currently sitting on an Express train to Wilson.

But I am in a better mood than most, for I remembered my knitting. And what a joy an extra hour of knitting can be.  My bosses laughed when I sent my email because I usually get in pretty early compared to everyone else. Today I’ll get in at the same time as my co-workers which is super late to me.
So my tip for the day. Never forget your knitting even if you think you won’t have time to work on it. You may get shanghaied on a train platform and be bored to tears without it.
