Sarah’s Weekly WIP Update

It’s a cast on party!

So at the end of last week I purchased a very cute hat pattern called the Farro Hat by Carina Spencer. It is a very cute slipped stitch cloche with an accent button. I cast it on in Berroco worsted which is 50% acrylic and 50% nylon. It was the only worsted I had on hand that wasn’t already spoken for, so no judging me. It actually turned out pretty nice although it bet it would be better in wool. It looks like it could use a little blocking.

I also cast on a pair of socks for my best friend. I am even letting her use the really pretty yarn I had been saving for myself so that should tell you how much I love her. They are going to be another pair of the two at a time, toe up lace wave ankle socks. I think this pattern just looks really nice on a foot without going pattern crazy.

I also cast on a baby blanket for a friend who found out she was expecting a couple weeks ago. I figure since I always finish baby blankets super late, I had better start early. I’m doing a very simple striped Chevron baby blanket by Melissa Clulow in Spud and Chloe sweater. I’m only going to do 2 colors, green and grey. It’s already cute and I’m only 12 rows in. Maybe I’ll actually get it done on time…

I am really loving working with the Spud and Chloe. It knits up really well. I using my marblz interchangeable needles in size 7. I need to keep reminding myself that the baby blanket can wait because winter items need to be finished before the baby is expected. It’s hard to remember when working with the Spud and Chloe is so rewarding. It has a nice hand and isn’t splitty and it reminds me why I like knitting with thicker yarns; projects move a lot faster.

That’s all for this week!

Later 🙂
