Sarah’s Weekly WIP Update

Well this week again was crazy at work. I know I’m starting to sound like a broken record and that will most likely continue to until things lighten up. I said today to my boss that I can either worry about my life or I can worry about my socks. It is probably the truest statement I’ve made this year. Worrying about my knitting provides an outlet because I need to worry about something. I would rather not worry about myself because I don’t really need to. Morgan doesn’t want me to worry about him because he doesn’t need it and all it does is cause us friction. I am not getting paid enough to worry about work at home so that leaves my knitting.

So socks. I worked on my mother-in-law’s chartreuse socks most of the week. Unfortunately right after I started the leg of the socks, the metal tip of my karbonz fell off. I figured a little super glue would fix it right up. I walked over to Walgreens early Sunday morning so I would be ready to leave in time for our brunch and Wonder Woman date (it was so good, go see it.) My needles were fixed in 30sec flat. I am handy and I won’t believe anyone who says differently.

After my needles were back in working order, I was on a roll and couldn’t write this until I had good news. They’re done! They are beautiful. I am officially a convert. #teamtoeup. It was so easy and the socks fit so well. The heel and gusset were easier to make than cuff down. The cast on was ingenious and much preferred to the 2-3 tries I need to get a cuff cast on without getting it twisted.  When I ran out of yarn, the socks were done.

This week I also worked a lot on my Wonder Wander mittens. I am almost done with the second thumb then they just need ends woven in.

If you’re in the Midwest this week, you understand why people were looking at me weird while I was knitting wool socks and mittens. It was hot hot hot. We don’t have AC so I was sitting on the couch just trying not to think about how hot it was. Knitting helped. (Ice cold Bourbon berry smashes helped more).
That’s all for this week hopefully I can decide on a new project soon. My fingers are feeling twitchy like they need to cast something on.
