So this week and the next couple weeks I am focusing on getting the rest of wedding preparations figured out. That means my knitting was a little weird this week and will probably be the same for the next few weeks.
I have high anxiety surrounding this event even though I have tried to make it as easy and casual as possible. Still it’s a wedding and I can’t avoid all of the anxiety inducing issues. Family, food, alcohol, groom and music all combine to make me feel like I’m herding cats.
But in exciting wedding news: This week we ordered honeymoon tickets. Portland, Oregon here we come! I am already trying to figure out what yarn shops I need to visit while Morgan is picking out the breweries we are going to go to.
In other wedding news: My mother in law to be threw me a little bridal shower and it was lovely. It was full of amazing women who are becoming part of my family and friends group. They were all so nice and excited for me. Many of them have known Morgan since he was in diapers so I got hear some great stories. It was a little overwhelming but I managed to put my social face on and I’m glad that the party was a success.
On Saturday was my yearly work BBQ at my boss’s house. It was great. We said goodbye to our awesome intern and ate some killer lamb chops. On our way out, I left my cell phone on a table in the back patio. Of course I didn’t realize this until I go home 40 minutes later. Apparently everyone had been texting each other trying to figure out who’s phone it was. I get home and email my boss. Yep they all had quite a chuckle at my expense but one Sunday without a phone was probably good for my sanity. I now am reconnected to the world so that’s good (or bad depending on your viewpoint).
Because of all the goings on this week I needed to work on something a little different. I just couldn’t bring myself to work on anything I already had on the needles. So I cast on the intermezzo cowl by Skeinwalker knits. It is knit out of malabrigo Rios in Aniversario which is a beautiful magenta/purple variegated colorway. I promptly knit the entire thing over the course of 4 days and cast off last night. It is currently blocking and you should expect to see finished pictures soon!
That cowl is really the only I worked on all week. I know, it was a boring but very productive knitting week.
I am really glad that I made the cowl. It helped keep my nerves in check all week and now I have another addition to the Christmas box.
