On a roll
What a productive weekend/start to the week!
I have updated my permit for my wedding! That’s a big step done. But in more important news, my knitting has been going great! I have been grooving my besties ankle socks and they look great… save for one patch where I forgot the patterning on one row. Whoops. That’s not getting ripped back. I called her and told they weren’t perfect. She said she still loves me so that’s good. I have dubbed it yet another Sarah original.
I have a couple skeins of chunky baby alpaca from Cascade that I have been meaning to get out my stash for awhile. They don’t have any siblings so I needed to look for 1 skein projects. This kind of issue is why ravelry is so amazing. I popped in the yarn I had then went to look at the projects that had been made from it. I filtered those projects by the yards in one skien and voila! A one skein cowl. I cast on and cast off Sunday. It’s cute and warm and super snuggly soft. A perfect Christmas present to add to the Christmas box.
I now have 2 hats, 2 cowls and 2 pairs of mittens unspoken for in the box for Christmas. I am planning on having at least 10 projects in the box by Christmas. That will be enough gifts for whoever we end up spending the day with.
That doesn’t count the people who I’m knitting for on purpose. My dad and my brother both have an outstanding pair of socks that will totally count plus maybe a hat for each…if I’m feeling generous. Morgan will decide as soon as it gets cold what he needs this year. Mom only needs yarn and tools.
All grandparents live in warm climates so they get the option but usually don’t want knits. Morgan’s sister asked for wristers and I have the perfect neon pink for her. Morgan’s mom loves socks. Morgan’s dad likes cowls. That’s everyone. And at the pace I’ve been going I think I can manage to get close as long as I pick appropriate projects.
In addition to all of the amazing knitting karma I’ve had, work went super well, and I easily knocked two errands off my list that I thought would be a lot more unpleasant.
Today has just been one of those days where I’m on a roll. Don’t worry it won’t last long and I won’t let it go to my head!
PS – Isn’t Ravelry the best? My current favorite way to use it is to find a pattern I like and then see all of the projects ravelers have made with the pattern. It’s amazing to see the creativity and talent of fellow knitters! Mary
