Sleeves never end. I get it now.
I’ve been so frustrated this week and have been finding it hard to work on my sweater because the sleeves are driving me crazy. I am serious in black hole knitting territory. I keep going but I feel like I make no progress. Because of this I have had to turn to other projects to make me feel productive.
My lace scarf is done! YAY!!!! It’s beautiful and blocked and I already wore it once. 😀
I am so proud of it. It’s the perfect color for me and it’s super warm despite being lace. The alpaca makes it easy to put next to my neck. It’s not super easy to see all of the detail while I’m wearing it but I know it’s there and that’s all that matters to me.
I also got a package in the mail and it was 5 skeins of gentle giant in the colorway Elephant Grey and a Sirka counter from Purl Soho. The yarn is jumbo merino. It’s like knitting with a cloud (or thick pencil roving).
Pros
Soft
Knits up quickly
Good color
Cons
Delicate (it’s not spun very tight and can pull apart easily)
It SHEDS – like lint everywhere. I basically have a non-existent cat for all of the lint I now have on my clothes.
It knits up super quick – by the end of this week I will have blown through $100 of yarn. Ouch.
I am knitting the Lattice Brioche scarf by Purl Soho for a friend who wanted one of the trendy super thick scarves. She really helped me with the wedding so I am humoring her. Super thick trendy scarf it is.
The pattern is super easy once you have done it a few times and it’s free. It’s 4 rows repeated over until desired length (or in my case until you run out of yarn).
I am excited that it’s going so quickly because I need something that makes me feel accomplished since the sleeves got me down.
I’ve got the sleeve blues….get it? ‘Cuz I’m knitting a blue sweater and the sleeves are blue?! Ha! I know, I’m hilarious.
Sorry for the pun but there are so many more in my head right now. So maybe I’ll stop now before I dig myself too deep.
I hope everyone has a lovely Thanksgiving and gets a lot of knitting done. Remember every time you want to punch a somebody , or scream in frustration at being asked what the wifi password is, just keep knitting.
Love,
S
