Putting a good spin on it
I had myself a spin-a-thon this weekend. I started Friday when I got home from work. I spun all evening. I spun all day Saturday. I had a family event Sunday through late afternoon but I WAS SO CLOSE TO DONE! So I plied and plied and plied until my fingers started to go numb. And at last I was done! I spun and plied 4 ounces of gold targhee silk and firestar blended batt into a 2 ply lace weight to be used in a very special project. It is sooooooooo pretty. I didn’t think I’d ever spin something pretty (I had been having a hard time learning) but after a couple classes at Yarncon and some choice fiber purchases, I have turned the corner. I am so excited to knit with this yarn. I have picked out my pattern. I need to run to a craft store to get some beads and spin up the pretty wool/silk rolags that I also picked up at yarncon. They are the color of the night sky. Purple, blue and a touch of white. When I finally get this cast on, I will divulge more info. I don’t want to jinx it though.
