This week I’ve been knitting almost completely on my Waiting for Rain shawl. It has been in time-out for a few days and I finally got it back out. Ooh lace how I love thee. Knitting lace just makes my heart skip. It’s fun and interesting and it makes my mind work and when you’re done, it’s just stunning. This week I started just before the 2nd lace short row section and now I’m about halfway done with the 3rd lace section. This shawl pattern, Waiting for Rain, is by Sylvia McFadden. It is a crescent garter and lace shawl. The lace sections are assymetrical short row panels. My shawl is knit in a pale green Dream in Color: Jilly with Cashmere for the garter bits, and a charcoal grey Merino of the lost label variety. It feels so luxurious but it also looks nice and will pair with most neutral tops that I wear to work.
If I keep knitting at the pace I hope I can finish it in the next couple weeks but I’m afraid I’m getting ahead of myself. So more updates to come.
