Hey all! I’m the daughter of this duo. I have been knitting and crocheting since I was very young. My mom taught me which is why we decided to start this project together. She is the technology gifted one in the pairing. Unusually enough we both knit right handed and crochet left handed. I have tried to crochet right handed but it’s harder than it looks! I now live in Chicago with my fiance although I’m originally from a small town.

I have a day job that pays the bills and I actually quite enjoy it. It also pays for my knitting addiction. Since I work at a computer all day, I love not staring at a screen when I come home. I prefer to knit and listen to music or listen to a movie that I’ve already seen a million times. I am pretty good at remembering movie dialog, (I get it honestly from my mother). We have shared favorite movies and shared favorite movie quotes which we will randomly text each other at any given time.

I love all fiber crafts and I’ve tried a lot of them. I knit and spin on a regular basis. I also dabble in crochet, weaving, needle work and sewing. I love going to fiber events and traveling to local yarn stores in whatever city I visit. Since this has become sort of a habit of mine, my fiance at least plans for 2-3 yarn shop visits on each vacation we take.

My fiance has grown an appreciation for my habit since he is allowed to play video games while I’m spinning or knitting. He also doesn’t mind having a winter accessory shop in his house since Chicago does get a wee bit chilly during the winter. He is one of my best models.

I learned to knit and crochet at 7 years of age from my next-door neighbor. I work in higher education in downstate Illinois where I shared my passion for needlework with Sarah when she was young. Both left-handers, we’ve learned to read patterns (and watch tutorials) backwards and figure them out. It was Sarah’s idea to start this blog, thinking I had the web know-how (or fake-it-till-you-make-it) to help with the heavy lifting to make the blog a reality. Our SOs tolerate our passion for fiber arts while not really understanding it.
